30 two-year Master's and 30 three-year Ph.D Scholarships

The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with Mahidol University, is proud to announce 30 two-year Master’s and 30 three-year PhD scholarships to study at Mahidol University, Thailand. The scholarships are available to the faculty and staff of Myanmar public universities and affiliated institutions as well as Myanmar government and NGO officials and those from private institutions.

These full scholarships, which will start in the 2013-2014 academic year, will cover the following areas:
  • Group 1: Life Science & Health
  • Group 2: Social & Population Science
  • Group 3: Human Rights & Peace Studies
  • Group 4: Environmental Science
* Applicants from minority backgrounds, women and those from rural areas are especially encouraged to apply.
* The first enrollments will be in August 2013.
* Please note that awardees must return to work in Myanmar upon completing their studies.

How to apply

Step 1 Apply through admission-online system
Prospective Myanmar students, who want to apply for these scholarships, need to choose the programs (Click to view the programs) and then follow the recommended steps for applying through our admission-online system

Step 2 Apply for 30 two-year Master’s and 30 three-year PhD scholarships
After submitting your admission-online application, you have to click on the scholarship-online form and then login to the form using your username and password obtained for applying the admission-online system.

Step 3 Selection Procedure
The Faculty of Graduate Studies and individual Program Committee will judge the selection by considering the documents required for both admission and scholarship forms and any additional process such as an entrance examination or interview, which may be required by an individual program. Applicants will be informed about any additional process as soon as the Faculty of Graduate Studies receives all the documents from applicants.

Step 4 Scholarship Status
After applying for scholarship, you can check your scholarship status here. It should be noted that your scholarship will be accepted providing that both admission and scholarship statuses need to be accepted.
